Limited parking is available for approved student commuters on a space available basis. Please see the Student Annual Permit Policy for complete details.
All citations or other unpaid fees that are due to UW Transportation Services must be paid prior to receiving a parking permit.
- Commuting students from outside Madison (beyond one mile of the city transit system).
- Working students using their vehicle at least three times a week for employment off campus. A signed letter from the employer listing scheduled work hours (on business letterhead paper) is required.
- Students with unusual or special needs (must provide justification).
The parking year is September 1 through August 31. Applications for the new parking year (permits effective September 1) generally are not available until the 2nd week in May. Please note, all of the 2011-2012 student permits have been allocated. Please submit an application if you would like to be placed on a waitlist.
