The University assumes no responsibility or liability for loss from theft, or damage to vehicles operated or parked on campus.
In accordance with State Statues 895.46 & 893.82, damages to personal vehicles while parked in a University lot or ramp are not covered by the University's insurance unless the damage is a direct result of negligence. Damages that are not covered include equipment malfunctions, wind, vandalism, etc.
If your vehicle is damaged (especially as a result of vandalism) contact UW Police at 264-COPS to file a report and then contact your insurance carrier.
If you have confirmation that your vehicle was damaged by a University owned vehicle, contact Risk Management at (608) 262-0375.
Transportation Services, Space Management, Physical Plant, Materials Distribution Services (MDS), Wisconsin Union and University Housing drafted a pilot policy to reduce large truck traffic within campus boundaries.
