Beginning August 12, 2024, students must order their bus passes online through UW Transportation Services before picking them up. Previously, students could pick up passes without placing an order.
Students will receive an email from studentbuspass@fpm.wisc.edu with pickup instructions when the pass is ready. From August 26 through September 13, bus pass pickup will be at Union South from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays. From September 16 onward, bus pass pickup will be at the Transportation Services 21 N. Park Street office location during its regular business hours.
There is no additional charge to order student bus passes online.
For more information about the student bus pass program and how to order, go to transportation.wisc.edu/bus.
Current-year bus passes will be available from StudentPrint at 333 E. Campus Mall through August 31. Starting September 1, StudentPrint will no longer be a bus pass distribution site.
Transportation Services will manage requests to replace lost or damaged bus passes beginning September 2024.
New! Reusable tap fare cards
UW student bus passes will now be reusable “tap fare” cards that students keep for as long as they are enrolled and meet eligibility rules. Students will not need to order and pick up a new card each semester.
When students no longer need their bus pass, and to avoid lost fees, return or mail bus passes to Transportation Services.
