- Grainer Hall Garage (Lot 7)
- Engineering Drive Ramp (Lot 17)
- University Avenue Ramp (Lot 20)
- North Park Street Ramp (Lot 29)
- Observatory Drive Ramp (Lot 36)
- UW Hospital Ramp (Lot 75)

Transportation Services has contracted with ChargePoint, an easy-to-use network portal for managing electric fueling. Those choosing to utilize the charging stations must first register with ChargePoint.
Locations and status of ChargePoint EV charging stations on campus can be found at https://na.chargepoint.com/charge_point. In order to use the ChargePoint stations on campus you must have an active ChargePoint card.
Visit https://www.chargepoint.com/activate to order or activate cards. Once you have an active ChargePoint card, you simply enter the parking facility (using your permit or by pulling a visitor ticket) and park in the designated stall for EV charging.
Next, hold your ChargePoint card over the smart card symbol on the unit. The station checks that you are authorized to use the station. Once authorized, the holster unlocks so you can plug the connector into your car. You can also start a session using the ChargePoint mobile app or by calling the customer service number on the station.
When your charging session is complete (or within four hours, whichever comes first), tap your ChargePoint card on the smart card reader symbol on the station again. The message on the display will instruct you to unplug the connector from your car, and put it back in the holster.
There is no additional fee for charging on the UW Madison campus, but you must pay any applicable parking charges (visitor fees, flex parking fees, or annual permit fees).
If you have any issues with the charging units, contact ChargePoint Support toll free 24 hours at (888) 758-4389.
