Vanpools are groups of commuters sharing a ride to work in a passenger van.
Commute with Enterprise provides vehicles and vanpool matching services. Passengers share the cost of operating the van by paying a fare based on fixed and variable costs, the number of riders, and the number of miles driven.

Vanpools are groups of 4 to 15 commuters sharing a ride to work in a passenger van. Riders commute together, share the cost, and save time and money.
To get started, go to the Commute with Enterprise website. Enterprise connects employees who live near each other and provides them with a recent-model SUV or van. Those interested in a vanpool parking permit can work with an Enterprise representative to apply.
The vanpool fare is usually much cheaper than driving your own vehicle — especially when you factor in the total cost of owning and operating a car. Most outlying areas offer vanpool options to campus.

Why UW employees choose vanpool
- Vanpool program participants automatically receive the campus base lot assignment requested and one alternate area assignment, if needed, for a backup driver.
- Vanpoolers are automatically eligible for the Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program.
- If you like to drive, you could commute at a reduced rate.
- Vanpool participants may apply for a personal Flex parking permit to use when unable to ride with the vanpool.
UW Parking & Transit Accounts
These accounts allow eligible employees to pay for certain parking and transit expenses with tax-free dollars. The funds in a transit account can be used to pay for vanpool commuting expenses.
