Park and ride Lot 202 is located near the intersection of S. Park Street and W. Wingra Drive. Permit holders may park only in the area marked in red on the map.
A shuttle serves Lot 202 with designated stops throughout campus. Permit holders may also choose to bike, walk, carpool, or use Metro Transit to reach campus.
Lot 202 shuttle information
A fare-free shuttle is available to Lot 202 permit holders Monday through Friday, except when Lot 202 is closed on UW state-observed holidays and the last week of December:
- You may park on campus these holidays when permits are not required: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day.
- Permit holders will be emailed about on-campus options for the last week of December.
Shuttles run every 20 minutes at peak times and every 40 minutes at off-peak times.
Times are approximate. The shuttle schedule is subject to delays due to construction, weather, heavy traffic, or other factors. Track the shuttle location at transportation.wisc.edu/pnrshuttle.

Parking on campus after hours
Your Lot 202 permit is valid on campus during off-peak hours: weekdays from 4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Refer to lot signs for enforcement details: some lots require a displayed permit, and lots may occasionally be closed due to events or construction.

If you need to park on campus during peak hours (weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.):

You can buy a half-day or daily permit in advance (up to one week ahead) at any Transportation Services office.

Emergency Ride Home
Lot 202 permit holders are eligible for the Emergency Ride Home program (ERH), which provides a cab ride from campus to your home or vehicle in case of an emergency.
Commuting tips
The shuttle is one of many ways to complete your journey to campus. You can also supplement your commute with Madison Metro Transit bus service, campus bus service, or bicycling.

Eligible employees may purchase a new bus pass throughout the year, or renew an expiring pass between August 1 and 31.
The annual pass is valid from September 1 through August 31, with prorated pricing for passes purchased after September 1. For current rates, visit the rates page. UWHC and UW Medical Foundation employees are not charged; UWHC covers 100% of the cost.

Bicycling
The Wingra Bike Path helps connect Lot 202 and campus by bike. The ride is about 2–4 miles (10–20 minutes), depending on conditions and campus location. Check Google Maps for your best route in each direction.
