UW campus garages

UW campus garages are controlled at all times. Rate schedules vary.

Users must display a valid UW parking permit, pull a ticket upon entry and pay visitor parking rates, or be in ParkMobile paid status at a timed parking stall (motorcycles only).

Lots controlled 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

From 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., users must display a valid UW parking permit OR be in ParkMobile paid status at a timed parking stall.

Free after-hours parking

From 4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday, there is no charge for parking and no permit is required unless the lot is closed for construction or a reserved during a special event.

Lots controlled at all times

From 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., users must display a valid UW parking permit OR be in ParkMobile paid status at a timed parking stall.

After-hours parking

From 4:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday, users may display any current-year UW base lot, Flex, or park and ride permit. Flex users must be in paid status with their primary lot code.

Permits are not valid for after-hours parking in any lot that is closed for construction or reserved during a special event.

Lot-specific permit required at all times

Users must display a valid lot-specific permit at all times OR be in ParkMobile paid status at a timed parking stall.

Surface lots with special hours (Lakeshore Nature Preserve, Eagle Heights)

Lot 130 (Picnic Point)

Payment is required Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lot is closed daily from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Lot 131 (University Bay Fields); (Athletic Field A); (Athletic Field B)

Permit required Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lot is closed daily from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Eagle Heights

Commuter permit parking at designated stalls in Eagle Heights lots C, F, J, L and Z is enforced 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Commuter parking areas are CLOSED from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday, and all-day Saturday and Sunday.

Park & ride and remote lots

You must display a lot specific permit during hours of control. No visitor parking available.

Moped and e-scooter lots

Moped lots are controlled 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Users must display a valid, lot-specific UW moped permit during hours of control.

Residential moped lots are controlled 7 a.m. to 1 1 p.m., Monday through Friday. Users must display a valid UW moped permit during hours of control.

All-access moped lots are controlled 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Users may display any current-year UW moped permit during hours of control.

E-scooters are allowed to park at bike racks or designated e-scooter parking areas (yellow stalls) in select moped lots.

UW Arboretum lots

Arboretum Lots

There are two entrances to the UW-Madison Arboretum:

  • West entrance off Seminole Highway by the Beltline (US-12)
  • East entrance by S. Mills St/N. Wingra Drive
