Employee eligibility
Employee eligibility for reduced cost base lot and UW-Accessible permits is salary-based.
2025-26 parking year qualifying salary
(Sept. 1, 2025—Aug. 31, 2026)
- UW employees and graduate/professional students with a gross hourly pay rate less than $21.63 per hour
- UW Health employees with a gross hourly pay rate less than $30 per hour
The gross pay rate eligibility threshold does not include lump sum bonuses or overtime.
All parking applications are subject to consideration for the reduced cost program. If you are offered a base lot or UW-Accessible parking permit, you will be charged the reduced rate if you have a qualifying salary on the date the permit is purchased—not the date you apply.
Eligibility criteria are set with guidance from the Office of Human Resources (OHR) and approved by campus administration.

Student eligibility
Most UW graduate and professional students with a UW campus employment appointment are automatically considered for the reduced cost program if they have a qualifying salary. Refer to the employee eligibility section on this page for qualifying salary information.
UW graduate and professional students without a UW campus employment appointment, or with an appointment classified as “student help,” must apply through the student parking application process to be considered for the reduced cost permit price.
Undergraduate students are not eligible for reduced cost parking permits.
