The 2018 Crazylegs Run/Walk is Saturday, April 28 at 10 a.m. Two different courses (8K and 2 mile) will travel through campus, causing some street and lane closures. Expect closures and considerable traffic between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Observatory Drive between N. Park Street and Walnut Street will be entirely closed to traffic. Walnut Street and portions of University Bay Drive and Marsh Drive will be closed, as will N. Charter Street from University Avenue to W. Dayton Street.
Lots impacts
- 16, 18, 19: Inaccessible between approximately 6 – 10:30 a.m. on Saturday; permit holder received emails on relocation options
- 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 26, 36, 55, 57, 58, 59, 60: Inaccessible between approximately 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Saturday
- 4, 12, 17, 20, 23, 27, 38, 39, 40, 62, 64, 65, 76: Lots will be accessible, but an alternate route will be necessary due to road closures (see campus map link at bottom)
- 34, 35, 37, 56, 80: Lots may be accessible, but note crossing the race route will only be permitted when there are sufficient gaps in the runners
Several Madison Metro bus routes will be detours due to race routes. The campus Route 80 bus will take a significant detour from its usual route. The Memorial Union, Observatory Dr., Walnut St., Highland Ave., and Lot 60 will not be served. Buses will operate on University Ave./ Johnson St., Campus Dr. and University Bay Dr.
