Charter Street, Linden Drive construction impacts begin May 22
Two utility projects will begin Monday, May 22 with work expected to last into August. Detours will be necessary for northbound travel on N. Charter Street (between University Avenue and Linden Drive) and westbound travel on Linden (between Babcock Drive and Elm Drive).
Observatory Drive closure near Bascom Hall, April 24-May 4
The eastbound lane of Observatory Drive will close between Charter Street and Bascom Hall to accommodate utility work. Vehicles traveling eastbound will detour to Charter Street. The westbound lane will remain open until May 4, when a one-day closure is planned for both lanes. The area is expected to fully reopen May 5.

Regent Street one-block closure to impact travel near campus, March 24-26
Regent Street between East Campus Mall and Park Street will be closed to accommodate the placement of a construction crane. Traffic will detour to West Washington Avenue and South Park Street. Lot 29 and Regent Street’s southern sidewalk will remain open.
Shamrock Shuffle races, Walnut Street closure to impact travel on campus
The Shamrock Shuffle 5K/10K events will go through parts of campus on Saturday, March 11. And beginning March 11, Walnut Street will be closed south of Linden Drive due to railroad bridge repair work. Traffic will detour to Highland Avenue through March 19.
Supplemental Route 80 shuttle to operate weekdays through May 12
To help alleviate campus bus crowding, a supplemental Route 80 shuttle will operate weekdays during the spring semester. The shuttle will arrive approximately every 20 minutes at Route 80 bus stops along the central campus loop; it does not serve Eagle Heights.
Holiday office hours and transit impacts – December 2022 and January 2023
Legal holidays from late December through mid-January will cause Transportation Services office closures, reduced Madison Metro Transit service, and other service reductions.
Some parking restrictions waived Nov. 25; changes to bus service
The legal holiday of Thanksgiving will cause a reduction in services for Madison Metro Transit, including campus bus routes. Some parking restrictions will be waived to accommodate bus riders unable to easily travel to campus during the reduced service.
Metro Transit seeking feedback on upcoming bus service redesign
Madison Metro is holding a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9 to discuss the final details related to the June 2023 service redesign. Bus service changes may impact how students, employees, faculty, and visitors get to and from campus.
