The Wisconsin Ironman event is Sunday, September 7. Part of the marathon course passes through the UW–Madison campus, including Lakeshore Path, Walnut Street, the Campus Drive overpass and Camp Randall Stadium. Areas just south and east of campus will also be affected.

Back to school campus travel forecast: residence hall move-in, Thursday football, construction
Thousands of visitors are expected between August 24 and 28 for UW Housing move-in and Thursday evening Badger football. In addition, several roadways are restricted due to construction work. These conditions will make it more challenging than usual to drive through campus. For some, biking, busing or other alternative travel modes may be preferable to driving.

Two race/walk courses will travel through campus on Saturday, April 26, causing lane closures and Metro Transit detours. Expect delays between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Parking info for 2025 WIAA state tournaments at the Kohl Center
High school state tournaments for individual wrestling (Feb. 27-March 1) and boys’ basketball (March 20-22) will impact parking and traffic around the Kohl Center.
Parking restrictions waived for winter holidays; changes to bus service
Transportation Services will waive some on-campus parking restrictions due to reduced Metro Transit bus service on the upcoming Christmas, New Year’s, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day holidays. There are also reduced restrictions on December 23 and 30.
Friday, Nov. 29 daytime football game and Thanksgiving holiday parking, transit impacts
Due to holiday-related reduced Metro Transit bus service, some parking restrictions will be waived on the UW–Madison campus Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29. However, a Badgers home football game Friday at 11 a.m. will impact parking availability on campus.
