The UW Homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 19 will temporarily close streets on the far east side of campus near Langdon Street and State Street. Langdon Street between N. Lake Street and Wisconsin Avenue will close from 4 – 8 p.m. to be used as a parade float staging area. The parade will start at 6 p.m. and travel a route from Langdon Street to Wisconsin Avenue to W. Gilman Street to State Street to N. Lake Street.
Langdon Street between N. Park Street and N. Lake Street will close from 6 – 9 p.m. for the UW Homecoming Block Party at the Memorial Union Alumni Park.
Street closures will detour campus bus routes (80, 81, 82) and other Metro bus routes. Here are the affected routes:
- Routes 80, 81, and 82 will detour from 4 – 9:30 p.m. Campus bus detour info and maps
- Routes 4, 6, and 29 will detour 4 – ~7:30 p.m. via Johnson/ Gorham streets. Buses return to regular route after parade moves through the area. Route 4, 6, 29 detour info and map
The intercity bus stop will also temporarily relocate from Langdon Street to University Avenue at East Campus Mall.
