Hey moped permit holders–don’t leave your moped out in the snow! Winter break (Dec. 21, 2018 – Jan. 21, 2019) will be here sooner than you think. If you’re leaving town, it’s time to figure out where your moped will stay while you’re away. Thanksgiving break is a great time to take your moped home.
Mopeds cannot park:
- anywhere on campus that is not a marked stall in a moped lot
- longer than 72 hours in non-residence hall moped lots*
Mopeds found in violation of this policy will be subject to citation and tow at your expense. Daily storage fees at the tow yard are $35 a day. Save your money by planning ahead!
*Moped storage over winter break is limited to the dedicated residence hall lots on campus. Only residents with Lot 604, 605, 606, 610, 615, 660, 664, and 665 permits may leave their mopeds in their respective, permit-specified lot over winter break. Residence halls reopen for the spring semester on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019.
Moving off-campus second semester? You need to return/exchange your permit at the end of the fall semester. Visit a Transportation Services office to process the return/exchange.
Graduating in December? Return your permit to a Transportation Services office for a pro-rated refund when you no longer need it.
With winter on the mind—please note: moped lots take lower plowing priority than campus roads and other vehicle lots. If your lot needs to be cleared of snow, let us know and park in the nearest available “all access” lot.
