Work related to the construction of Morgridge Hall will cause short-term roadway and sidewalk closures the week of April 6.
Pedestrian impacts
The existing protected walkway on the northern side of W. Johnson Street will close between Orchard Street and N. Charter Street. The closure is expected to last from Monday, April 7 through Friday, April 11. Signage will direct pedestrians to the southern sidewalk. Flaggers will be present during periods of high activity to ensure pedestrians do not enter the work zone.
Impacts for motorists
On Thursday, April 10 and Friday, April 11, an additional lane of W. Johnson Street will close from Orchard Street to N. Charter St. This closure is in addition to an existing lane closure along this section of roadway, leaving a single traffic lane and one bus lane available for motor vehicle traffic. The closure will take place during off-peak travel times, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
