The Madison Marathon half marathon and full marathon will take place Sunday, Nov. 12, starting at 7 a.m. at the Capitol. The runners will run through the UW Arboretum, UW Campus, Warner Park, and back to the Capitol, with the last runners finishing around 1:30 p.m. Several areas will be temporarily unavailable, and bus detours will be in effect. Police officers will be located throughout the course, assisting traffic. Please plan ahead if you’ll be traveling around the race routes, as crossing the route will only be permitted when there are sufficient gaps in the runners.
Full details on the race route and street closures is available on the City of Madison detour page.
Campus bus route 80 and several other bus routes will detour to avoid the race traffic. Route 80 buses detour from start of service until 10 a.m. on Sunday. There will be no service on Observatory Dr., Linden Dr., by Lot 60 or Memorial Union. Board at any open stop on the detoured route. Click for Route 80 detour info page and map. See all bus detours on the Madison Metro bus detour page.
