Commencement parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If a parking garage or ramp has a lit “Full” sign, no stalls are available in that lot. Full ceremony, parking, and shuttle details are available on the Commencement website. Below is a snapshot of some parking details.
Permit holders–no relocation is necessary, but you may wish to avoid the lots closest to the graduation venues due to traffic congestion.
Moped lots 690 and 695 by Camp Randall will be closed for security purposes on Saturday, May 12. The two lots east of Lot 17 (Engineering Drive Ramp)–Lot 694 and 653–can be used instead.
Doctoral, MFA and Medical Professional Degree Ceremony
Friday, May 11, 5:30 p.m. at the Kohl Center
Almost all campus parking lots are free after noon on Friday, but space will fill quickly. Reference the Commencement parking map for lot availability details. Visitors must pull a ticket at gated facilities (ramps and garages) and use it to exit, but it is a $0 charge.
Transportation Services staff will be at Lots 29 (N. Park Street Ramp), 46 (Lake & Johnson Ramp), 48, and 91 to assist visitors. There is no charge to park in these lots.
**5/11 12:30 p.m. update**: Lot 36 (Observatory Drive Ramp), 60, 76 (University Bay Drive Ramp), and 82 are being used for Big 10 Softball Tournament parking on Friday, but due to poor weather conditions and delayed games, the lots will NOT BE STAFFED and no special fee will be required. Visitor may park in these lots for free. (Please note Lots 63, 74, and 75 are UW Hospital lots and are not free during Commencement weekend.)
Bachelor’s, Law and Master’s Degree Ceremony
Saturday, May 12, Noon at Camp Randall Stadium
Almost all campus parking lots are free beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, but space will fill quickly. Lot 18 and 19 are not available for Commencement parking. Reference the Commencement parking map for lot availability details. Visitors must pull a ticket at gated facilities (ramps and garages) and use it to exit, but it is a $0 charge.
Transportation Services staff will be at Lots 7 (Grainger Hall Garage), 13, 16, 17 (Engineering Drive Ramp), 20 (University Avenue Ramp), 33, 36 (Observatory Drive Ramp), 38, 39, 40, 41, 44, 45, 51, 54, 56, 62, 80 (Union South Garage), and 92 to assist visitors.
The campus bus Route 80 and a Commencement shuttle are available on Saturday to take visitors around campus.
