Transportation Services is proud to announce credit cards will be accepted at staffed special events starting Sept. 8, 2018. Fans will be able to use a credit or debit card to purchase game day parking lots, beginning with the Wisconsin Badgers vs. New Mexico Lobos football game.
There has been a growing trend in customers preferring credit/debit card payments to cash. In order to meet customer needs and reduce cash handling, Transportation Services explored options for handling credit/debit transactions in the field. New handheld devices will allow staff to process payments from many major credit card providers (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express).
The move will make the parking process smoother for the nearly 150 events Transportation Services assists with each year.
Credit/debit cards and cash will be accepted for football parking at Lots 46, 57/58, 60, 76, and 64. The cost to park is $15 in Lots 46 and 57/58, $5 for Lots 60 and 76, and $50 for Lot 64 bus/RV parking.
Credit/debit card payment will be accepted in lots selling “day-of” parking for future Transportation Services staffed events. Stay tuned for details on those events!
