Parking Restrictions for the 2020 Football Season Opener

The Badger football season opener vs. Illinois is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. Several public health safety protocols will be in place to protect the health of the visiting team and the UW-Madison community. Only essential personnel will attend the game and tailgating and loitering in campus parking lots are strictly forbidden.

There will be no parking for tailgating purposes. Parking lots will be staffed in order to ensure no tailgating or gatherings occur. UWPD will be on call to help enforce this rule.

Parking is restricted to permit holders and essential personnel for work-related purposes only.

  • Lot 16, 17, 20, 41, 45, and 80 permit holders are asked to plan to leave their respective lots by 5 p.m. on Friday unless they need to stay for work-related reasons.
  • Paid visitor parking will not be available at Lot 17 (Engineering Drive Ramp) all day on Friday or in Lot 20 (University Avenue Ramp) and Lot 80 (Union South Ramp) Friday afternoon.
  • Lot 18, 19, and 17 will be used for game day personnel parking. Lot 18 and 19 permit holders will be relocated to Lot 17 for the day.
