Transportation Services announces 2023-24 parking rates and program changes

Parking rates and program changes for the 2023-24 parking year (Sept. 1, 2023 – Aug. 31, 2024) have been approved and released. Many parking permits and passes will see a 1% (one percent) price increase. The Madison Metro employee bus pass, night parking permits, and Flex parking rate will not increase.

The hourly rate at which employees, graduate students, and professional students are eligible to be considered for the reduced cost parking program will increase from $18.35 per hour to $18.72 per hour.

A list of rates can be found on the rates webpage.

Policy updates will be posted to the UW-Madison Policy Library and the Transportation Services website before the start of the next fiscal year. Transportation Services policies can be found on the policies webpage.

As an auxiliary enterprise of UW-Madison, Transportation Services — a division of Facilities Planning & Management — receives no state funding and must generate revenue to fund programs and activities. Revenue funds parking lots and facilities, campus bus service, and alternative transportation activities. Rates are set in accordance with UW campus policies and are approved by the Campus Transportation Committee to cover only the cost of operating the department, including infrastructure improvements such as new lots and garages.
