Two construction projects will affect central campus travel this summer. Please see details below about upcoming partial closures on N. Charter Street and Linden Drive.
N. Charter Street one-way closure
Northbound travel on N. Charter Street between University Avenue and Linden Drive will close Monday, May 22 for utility work expected to last until Friday, August 25.
Traffic needing to go north toward Observatory Drive should use Babcock Drive, Henry Mall, or N. Park Street as a detour route to reach Linden or Observatory.
Madison Metro transit routes traveling northbound in this area are expected to reroute to Babcock Drive. Detour information will be released at the Metro Transit website.
Southbound travel on Charter will remain open, including campus bus route 80.
Linden Drive one-way closure
Westbound travel on Linden Drive between Babcock Drive and Elm Drive will close Monday, May 22 for utility work expected to last until Friday, August 25.
Traffic needing to go west toward Elm Drive should use Babcock Drive and Observatory Drive as a detour route to reach Elm during this closure.
Eastbound travel on Linden Drive will shift lanes but remain open.
