Ironman 2025 to affect campus traffic, parking, bus service

The Wisconsin Ironman event is Sunday, September 7. Part of the marathon course passes through the UW–Madison campus, including Lakeshore Path, Walnut Street, the Campus Drive overpass and Camp Randall Stadium. Areas just south and east of campus will also be affected.

The UW–Madison Police Department will assist with traffic rerouting.

Access to some parking lots along the route may be temporarily restricted based on the number of runners. UWPD will direct traffic in and out of lots when possible.

Metro Transit detours will be in effect on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7, including campus routes. Detour information will be available on Metro Transit’s website.

Roads will reopen on a rolling basis as the final runners clear an area.
