Located at the former site of the Oscar Mayer plant, the new park and ride lot will add approximately 300 spaces to UW–Madison’s parking inventory.
Officially designated Lot 206 (Aberg & Packers), the park and ride serves Madison’s northeast side and is a 20- to 30-minute shuttle ride to campus.
A shuttle will run between Lot 206 and campus weekdays from approximately 5:45 a.m. to 7:45 p.m., excluding UW legal holidays. Shuttle stops are located across campus and UW Hospital and Clinics. The shuttle will run every 17 minutes during peak hours, and every 25 minutes during off-peak hours.
A university parking permit will be required to park in Lot 206 and to use the shuttle.
Applications for Lot 206 now being accepted
UW and UW Hospital and Clinics employees may apply now for a permit valid during the 2025 parking year, which runs from September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2025. The cost for a Lot 206 permit is $298 for the year and is prorated by date of purchase.
Park and ride permits are also valid in “yellow lots” on the university campus after hours and on weekends, except if a lot is closed for construction or reserved for a special event. (“Green lots” that are open and unreserved do not require a UW permit after hours or on weekends.)
Application deadlines
