Work on the new Irving & Dorothy Levy Hall at the corner of N. Park Street and W. Johnson Street will affect travel for motorists, buses, cyclists, and pedestrians through November.
Closure #1: Closed to southbound traffic, November 9-10
The steel structure for the auditorium will be installed the second weekend in November. Southbound travel will be closed for one block of N. Park Street, from W. Johnson Street to W. Dayton Street. The closure is expected to last from 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9 through 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 10. The project timeline is subject to change due to weather and other factors.
- Both southbound traffic lanes will be closed. Vehicles traveling south on Park Street may detour along Lake Street via W. Johnson Street and W. Dayton Street. Motorists should expect delays and plan ahead when traveling to and from campus, especially during peak travel times.
- The southbound bicycle lane will be closed. Bicyclists are encouraged to use East Campus Mall or Brooks Street to head south.
- The western sidewalk will be closed. Detour signage will reroute pedestrians to the eastern sidewalk of Park Street. The pedestrian detour will be ADA accessible. Do not walk in traffic or bicycle lanes.
- Metro Transit BRT Route B will be affected by the closure. Bus stops will be closed and buses will detour. Detour information will be available at cityofmadison.com/metro.

- Traffic lanes will be reduced, with one northbound and one southbound traffic lane remaining open. Traffic delays are possible. Plan ahead when traveling to and from campus, especially during peak travel times.
