Due to holiday-related reduced Metro Transit bus service, some parking restrictions will be waived on the UW–Madison campus Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29.
However, please be aware that a Badgers home football game Friday at 11 a.m. will impact parking availability as thousands of fans are expected to visit Madison and the campus area.
Later this month, Transportation Services will send a detailed email to permit holders outlining specific parking information and alternative options based on their assigned lot.
A general overview of holiday parking, game-day impacts, and campus bus service is below.
Alternatives to on-campus parking
Rather than driving to campus on Friday, Nov. 29, the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration has asked employees and supervisors to consider flexible work arrangements or alternative modes such as carpooling, biking, and taking the bus (which will be running Saturday schedules). Transportation Services can assist with route planning.
Off-campus remote parking lots will be open to all employees on Friday, Nov. 29, with no permit required. Lots 202 (Park and Wingra) and 206 (Aberg and Packers) offer park and ride shuttle service. Lot 204 (3500 University Ave.) is located near bus stops and the Campus Drive pedestrian and bike path to get to and from campus.

Please note that restricted parking areas are always enforced, including accessible stalls and other signed reserved stalls, access aisles, fire lanes, and other no parking zones.
