Located at 3500 University Avenue between Panera Bread and Noodles and Co., remote lot 204 provides an access point near west campus and UW Hospital and Clinics.
A shuttle will run between lot 204 and campus with stops near the Waisman Center, Health Sciences Learning Center, Lakeshore Residence Halls, and Charter at University. The shuttle will operate weekdays from approximately 5:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. The schedule is being finalized and service will begin in early December.
The distance from lot 204 to the west end of the UW-Madison campus is approximately one mile, which may be walkable and/or bikeable for some users.
Joining lot 202 (Park and Wingra) and lot 206 (Aberg and Packers) which opened this year, park and rides or remote lots with shuttle service are now available on the north, west, and south sides of Madison.
Apply for a Lot 204 permit
A university parking permit is required to park in Lot 204 and use the shuttle.
Beginning November 20, employees may apply for a permit valid from December 2, 2024, through the remainder of the current parking year, which ends on August 31, 2025.
The cost for an annual Lot 204 permit is $618 and is prorated by date of purchase.
Remote lot permits are also valid in “yellow lots” on the university campus after hours and on weekends, except if a lot is closed for construction or reserved for a special event. (“Green lots” that are open and unreserved do not require a UW permit after hours or on weekends.)
Application deadlines and disclaimers
As of November 20, applications for Lot 204 will be accepted on a rolling basis through the end of April 2025. Applications are processed and permit offers are emailed every two weeks.
Applying for a permit does not guarantee you will receive an offer.
