A few campus roads will undergo asphalt repairs October 29-31. Two-way traffic will be maintained in all project areas.
Lot 8 and Lakeshore Path affected by pier construction on October 27
A crane will be working on the Hoofer pier replacement project on Saturday, Oct. 27, closing Lot 8 and temporarily inhibiting travel on Lakeshore Path.

Detours for Freakfest begin Friday night with some Metro Transit routes. Street closures and significant detours in place on Saturday, Oct. 27.
No westbound traffic on Linden Drive near Babcock Hall Oct. 22-23
Repair work on Linden Drive from Babcock Drive to Elm Drive means no westbound traffic October 22-23. Westbound vehicles should use Observatory Drive to avoid the closure.
UW Homecoming event road closures and detours
The UW Homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 19 will temporarily close streets on the far east side of campus near Langdon Street and State Street. Traffic and various Metro Transit routes will detour.
Email phishing attempt from “UW Parking Services”
A phishing attempt from “UW Parking Services” is targeting UW-Madison groups–if you receive a suspicious email with a subject line like “[URGENT] New Parking Rules”, please report it to the Office of Cybersecurity.
N. Charter Street closed at all times starting October 15
To speed up steam project progress, N. Charter Street from W. Johnson Street to University Avenue will close in both directions at all times starting October 15. Vehicles should use alternative travel routes.
Observatory Drive/Willow Creek Bridge paving to cause delays
A paving project on the Willow Creek bridge section of Observatory Drive starts October 8. Two-way traffic will continue, but only one lane of traffic is available 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The project will last through ~October 17.
