Bus service reduced and some parking rules waived for winter holidays
Transportation Services will waive some on-campus parking restrictions due to reduced Metro Transit bus service on the upcoming Christmas, New Year’s, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day holidays. There are also fewer parking restrictions on December 26 and January 2.
Survey to gather feedback on Metro Transit ridership to campus
Randomly selected groups of students, faculty, and staff will receive an invitation to take a Metro Transit check-in survey. Responses will help UW Transportation Services understand how campus community members use Metro Transit to access UW-Madison campus and University Hospitals.

Ironman 2025 to affect campus traffic, parking, bus service
The Wisconsin Ironman event is Sunday, September 7. Part of the marathon course passes through the UW–Madison campus, including Lakeshore Path, Walnut Street, the Campus Drive overpass and Camp Randall Stadium. Areas just south and east of campus will also be affected.
Work on Lakeshore Path to affect bicycle and pedestrian travel
The path south of the Limnology building, near Memorial Union, is being reconstructed to improve safety conditions for cyclists and vehicles. Cyclists who normally use the parking lot and path south of the Limnology Building should detour around the north side of the building. Please note the detour route will be shared by people on foot and bicycles. Detour signage will be placed around the work site.
Back to school campus travel forecast: residence hall move-in, Thursday football, construction
Thousands of visitors are expected between August 24 and 28 for UW Housing move-in and Thursday evening Badger football. In addition, several roadways are restricted due to construction work. These conditions will make it more challenging than usual to drive through campus. For some, biking, busing or other alternative travel modes may be preferable to driving.
