Accessible parking and transportation resources at UW-Madison
The new parking year is under way, and Transportation Services wants to highlight accessible parking and transportation options available to the UW campus community members and visitors with disabilities.
Ironman 2023 to cause campus area traffic detours
The Wisconsin Ironman event is Sunday, Sept. 10 and consists of routes traveling through the Madison area and UW–Madison campus. The marathon course passes through much of campus and will cause detours and delays. Runners are anticipated on the course from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Madison Metro has adjusted its redesigned system of bus schedules based on passenger feedback. The new system may be easier to use for some UW community members. All passengers (and potential passengers!) should check their routes before returning to campus for the new semester.
2023 biennial transportation modes survey results published
Results of the 2023 Biennial Transportation Survey are now available on the Transportation Services website. Survey results show which transportation modes students and employees use to get to and from campus.

Madison Metro will launch a completely new system of bus routes, stops, and schedules June 11, 2023. UW Madison campus community members are encouraged to check mymetrobus.com to learn how the new system will impact individual commutes.
Charter Street, Linden Drive construction impacts begin May 22
Two utility projects will begin Monday, May 22 with work expected to last into August. Detours will be necessary for northbound travel on N. Charter Street (between University Avenue and Linden Drive) and westbound travel on Linden (between Babcock Drive and Elm Drive).
Observatory Drive closure near Bascom Hall, April 24-May 4
The eastbound lane of Observatory Drive will close between Charter Street and Bascom Hall to accommodate utility work. Vehicles traveling eastbound will detour to Charter Street. The westbound lane will remain open until May 4, when a one-day closure is planned for both lanes. The area is expected to fully reopen May 5.

Regent Street one-block closure to impact travel near campus, March 24-26
Regent Street between East Campus Mall and Park Street will be closed to accommodate the placement of a construction crane. Traffic will detour to West Washington Avenue and South Park Street. Lot 29 and Regent Street’s southern sidewalk will remain open.
