UW Homecoming event road closures and detours
The UW Homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 19 will temporarily close streets on the far east side of campus near Langdon Street and State Street. Traffic and various Metro Transit routes will detour.
N. Charter Street closed at all times starting October 15
To speed up steam project progress, N. Charter Street from W. Johnson Street to University Avenue will close in both directions at all times starting October 15. Vehicles should use alternative travel routes.

Milling and paving projects will happen around campus October 1-4, sometimes affecting main roadways such as Observatory Drive and Walnut Street.

N. Charter Street from W. Johnson Street to University Avenue is closed in both directions from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. One lane of southbound traffic is available in evening and early morning hours.
Ironman to cause campus detours
The Madison Ironman is Sunday, Sept. 9. The marathon route impacts several campus roads. Expect detours and delays.
Madison Mini-Marathon to restrict campus roads on August 18
A half marathon and 5K race will pass through campus on Saturday, Aug. 18, causing some road restrictions, bus detours, and traffic delays between 7 a.m. and noon.
