Parking info for WIAA state tournaments 2022

WIAA state tournament season is here! The UW-Madison campus will host more than 125,000 visitors for:

  • Individual Wrestling: February 24 – 26
  • Boys Basketball: March 17 – 19

UW-Madison permit holders have helped make previous tournaments a success. We need your help again to make this year’s tournaments as accessible as possible for athletes, parents, and spectators. This is a memorable experience for visitors traveling from all corners of the state and your cooperation is greatly valued and appreciated.

WIAA visitors and spectators: use the WIAA website for tournament-specific parking details.

Affected permit holders will receive specific parking and relocation information by email before the February and March tournament dates.

Affected lots and permit holder relocation

Lots 29, 46, 48, 78, 83, 87, 91, and 94 will be staffed 7 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on tournament days.

  • Permit holders in Lot 46, 78, 87, 91, and 94 must relocate on the above tournament dates, or their vehicles will be subject to ticketing and towing.
  • Lot 29 and 83 will be used for visitor parking but permit holder relocation is not required. Alternate lots are available for those who wish to avoid traffic congestion.

If you park in an alternate lot on campus, the fare-free campus Route 80 bus can help get you where you need to go.

Note: All Flex users must use their assigned lot code when starting a session, even if they are parked in a different lot.

Traffic and alternative transportation method options

You can expect heavy traffic on and around campus during WIAA tournaments, especially during peak commuting times. This can be especially true in areas of ongoing campus construction. Please allow yourself plenty of time to park on campus. You may wish to explore active or alternative transportation methods during the tournament dates. Some options include carpooling, biking, or taking the bus.
